► If you have a character in mind that you'd like to app into the setting, but have questions about how they might gel with players, other characters, and the setting as a whole, this is the post for discussion!
► Do use this post as a way to brainstorm specific ideas, especially for pre-existing CR in setting original/AU characters.
► Do use this post as a place to check with other players on the feasibility of playing a certain character - both in terms of how the character might fit in ICly and how comfortable other players would be with them OOCly. Be mindful of triggery content that characters might bring up, and be respectful of other players' concerns about such content.
► Do speak honestly but respectfully about potential applications. It's much, much better to say "I'm not comfortable with this character for x reasons" or "I think it's fine if you handle it in x way rather than y way" than to come back to the problem months down the road.
► Do not be vague. This goes both ways. When posting, be as specific as possible regarding your current ideas as well as your areas of concern. Don't say "I don't know how this character will fit into the setting," because it's not other players' responsibilities to write your AU or make plans for you. Similarly, don't say, "I don't want this character in the game" without giving a big ol' reason why. Constructive discussion is the name of the game.
